Located on Exchange Street, in the centre of Attleborough, Lawrence House was originally two terraced properties. The legal firm known as “Moroneys” occupied the building for many years after which it was let to a firm of Accountants. Ruth bought the property in May 2024 from Mr. Lawrence Moroney and decided to name the property “Lawrence House” in recognition of his long connection with the town. Ruth and John have re-designed the interior of the property to accommodate Ruth’s business, Clarity Colorimetry – specialising in visual stress – adding additional office space for rental to local small businesses.

On leaving school, Ruth trained as a florist and, on graduating from Easton College she opened her own shop in Norwich. She later trained as a Dispensing Optician but always kept a keen interest in anything “Arts and Crafty”. When Lawrence House came up for sale, as well as the downstairs space being ideal for establishing Clarity in Attleborough, Ruth’s dream of an Arts & Crafts room upstairs became a reality which is how Lawrence House Studio evolved.
